First time chick owner! I got worried about sex when I read a few things on a similar thread. These are what the feet look like on my three, 3-week-old barred rock chicks. All three sets of feet look like this (I've read that the feet can be a reliable indicator)...I think I've got girls? We were supposed to get females from the hatchery... Two of them have had lots of light colored plumage on their chests (the two on the left in the above picture - it's hard to see the light plumage on the far left but it's there), one is almost completely dark on her chest. The darkest chick has a narrow white spot on her head, the other two have larger, broader white spots on their heads! Thanks in advance!

Photos of the chicks are they are now, at three weeks, will be most helpful in trying to assess gender as, at three weeks, they'll be fairly well feathering out and that is a characteristic we need to see.

I think the one with the bigger comb is a roo. Mine always had a bigger comb. Kept wondering for so long why it wouldn't lay eggs... then I realized she was actually a he. Haha

It was first time having chickens. They were the best though. We constantly held them as babies so they were super used to people. They would even peck at the back door in hopes we'd come out with a treat.
