Help me stock my chicken first aid kit

If you live in the US you can purchase "prescription" drugs like Baytril, Nystatin, Clavamox, Cipro, Keflex, Fluconazole, metronidazole, amoxicillin, etc without a prescription as most are sold as fish antibiotics or for pigeons.

If you live in Canada you can get fluconazole OTC as Canesoral.

Hmmm... A couple of those things sound like something a woman would use for a yeast infection.
Yes, that's exactly what they are, lol. Many of the drugs we use can also be given to birds, just usually at a lower dose. Never through out your drugs, they just might come in handy!

When your chicken is sick you will know, they usually are isolated from the group and hiding in a corner, not eating, drinking some will be down.. etc.

I would definitely get some Blue Kote for any cuts and scratchs
Polyvisol without iron
Vitamin B Complete
I use 7 dust for external bugs
Ivermectin for Worming or Wazine
Vet wrap for injured or broken bones
Tylan 50 - antibotics
Oxine - used for cleaning purposes.
Vitamin E
Oyster shells for calcuim for those who have soft shells

Good lord theres a huge list of things, since you have no problems at the time, this list would be a good start for you..
For my benifit, could you please expand on the uses of polyvisol without iron, vitamin b and vitamin e used for??? and dosages would be great!!!

Polyvisol is GREAT for chicks if you have one that has hatched and he lost some blood this helps regenerates it. Vitamin B is good for Ducks I use Vitamin B complex, one pill in a quart of water, this has niacin in it for ducks in which they need it, also useful for chickens. Vitamin E one pill for any chick that may have gotten struck in the head and is down because of wry neck.

Out of all them, I would say Vitamin B Complex is your most important pill because of the Naicin in it, Niacin helps with any leg issues also corrects Leg issues... Need that chick or duck to stand and walk so i found this would be the most important ingredient.. studies have shown having niacin in your chicks or ducks diet have may great improvements to them.
