I went to a local auction hosted by a poultry club today and came home with a pair of white bantam Cochins. The hen is great - super cute, healthy, etc.
The rooster, I’m not sure what to think. His feet are all strange and what look like to be deformed. Please take a look at the pictures and help me understand how his feet are like this. Is this genetic? Is this common in Cochins? Is it called something?
Besides his feet, he’s otherwise fine. However, I’d really like to get into showing Cochins in the future and I’m 99.9% sure that I’m going to rehome him to a pet home, but I’d like to take this as a learning experience and hear what you all have to say.

and you won't be eating (his) eggs or I don't believe you are planning on eating him. I would be inclined to use Ivermectin for the Scaly Leg Mites. From what I understand feather footed birds are a little harder to treat just because of the feathers. Scales on feather footed birds may also appear slightly raised due to the feathers, but generally they should be smoother.
