Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I think long nails happen mostly with birds raised in wire-bottom cages and ones that don't get to scratch the ground as much. When chickens have access to hard ground, they normally wear/grind their toenails (and beaks) down. But I have a few that just seem to grow faster/longer/harder than others and need trimmed occasionally.
I think his feet will improve greatly with the clipping, and I wouldn't worry about creating offspring from him. I'd do it! He's gorgeous!

I think you're correct I think. Those same birds in cages don't peck the ground either which is probably why his beak was long.

This was my thinking too.
I'm like you though, I have a couple of girls that need a nail trimming, they usually only scratch in the soft dirt while the others till up the runs.

I wasn't able to get a video last night, but I will tonight. Reason being- come to find out when I got home to check for mites, you were right, he ALSO has mites! Little black/red dots... ugh. So does the hen!

I went out and bought DE last night and gave all birds a dust bath, only to come and find out that it is not a solution. Can you please give me some insight on what to buy to treat for mites and what to buy to clean the coop out with?

Permetherin10 is what I use. You can use the powder but the liquid is better as you'll want to spray out the nests and coop after cleaning out all litter, spray then put in new bedding and nesting material. Spray birds and coop again in 10 days to kill the hatched eggs. No need to clean litter second round.

It's a concentrate liquid. 10 stand for 10% permethrin solution. Dilute it to around 0.5% and apply with a spray bottle or pump sprayer. One little 8 oz bottle will last you a few years.

This is 16 oz. You can find smaller container.

Oh No!
I'm glad you came to the conclusion that DE won't be effective to treat a mite/lice infestation. Permethrin dust/powder as suggested by @Egghead_Jr should do the trick for you.

Thank you for the awesome product suggestion! It looks like they don't carry that exact product at the Tractor Supply near me, but they do have this which looks to be the same thing:

For your coop and birds:

If your coop is big I suggest one of these:

For sick birds, or when it's too cold to spray them:

Above are samples of permethrin-based products that I have used.
