I'm sure someone else may be able to explain better, but from what I understand they are little enflamed areas on the foot with this little black dot scab on it. If you look at the picture below, its where the arrow is pointing too. I was able to extract the black scab after soaking the foot. It bled slightly for a minute. but then it stopped and it seems to be healing nicely. I saw it as almost like foot blisters that humans get.

Is he limping? Could you maybe post a video of him walking? To post video upload to you tube or vimeo then copy & paste the link here.

First off, THANK YOU for the AMAZINGLY educational reply! I’m new to chickens so your post did me a HUGE favor!

I am heading out there today to clip his nails, and I’ve been looking up some remedies for bumble foot this morning. Any recommendations for that other than what I’ve read?? (Soak with Epsom salts and spray with vetericyn)

As for the scaly leg mites, are those contagious?? He was near my birds yesterday so now I’m worried! I’ve read that you use some mite spray (I’ve attached a picture) . Does this stuff work good?
I don't have any vetericyn or anything, what I did was soak my girl's feet in the warm water and carefully take off the scab, then bandage with non-medicated neosporin. Then she was fine. That was a minor case though, it may work for yours but I don't know.

A comment from a vet about avian pus:

"The tricky thing about birds’, herbivores’ (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats), and reptiles’ pus is that it is thick, like cottage cheese or toothpaste, because these animals lack the ability to break it down into a liquid, like our pus. This is the reason we have to perform surgery to remove the pus from these animals and not just cut the area open and let it drain out."
