yep it's why i thank god for fish nets they can't peck what they can't touchI have one roo that it doesn't matter what I'm doing, if I go by him, he puffs up and acts like he wants to attack. So before he can do that I take a sick and just point it at him and he looks for a minute then decides he doesn't want any part of that stick and backs off. I'm sure he's just bidding his time and is going to try to to really attack and I when he does it's off to the pot for him.
lols yeah the only rooster that ever attacked me at my grams got turned into stewI have some of my younger chickens peck at my toes and such, but none of my roosters will mess with you. I can sit on the ground holding a squawking hen at eye level with my head rooster and he will evil eye me, but that's as far as it goes. I've only had one rooster flog me and it was a little bitty silkie rooster. Lol. So...no harm there, but I gave him away just the same.
So i bought my kids some chicks a few weeks ago. I wasn't really thinking of keeping them long term.
It is a big no no to get chicks FOR your children and not expecting having them around "long term" I just really needed to say that
