oh gee um well the white one can be anything along a leghorn, Delaware, Rhode Island White, White Sussex, Chantecler or Langshan and the red ones can be anything along a rhode island red, new Hampshire red, red star or buckeye but what happened to the black and white speckled one? White Sussex

Oh boy! So I still have some time to go before ill know! The black one is doing fine, (she) was camera shy. But by far my favorite chick!

Ill read into the roo coller. Hes a a pecker already! He got my toe pretty good today!

he is testing you to see who is top rooster (i know it's weird) but the way i broke my rooster of peaking me is i picked him up and carried him around for about 3 hours despite the kicking peaking squalling etc i had a string tied to his foot so he couldn't jump or "fly" away, i needed a change of clothes after that but he hasn't pecked at me since.

I'm praying so hard that they are! I'm almost done with the coop and super excited!

Can't be a langshan, they have feathered feet, can't be a chantecler because the chick's in question have single combs. And chanteclers have that weird flat comb. Can't remember what it's called. I would guess leg horn or white rock. You'll know soon because leghorns stay very light bodied and rocks are heavier. From the look of the comb and build so far I would guess leghorn. We will see though. I would also guess the speckled one to be a barred rock. Could easily be wrong though with no updated photos. I never worry about washing my chickens, but dawn dish detergent and warm water will surely do the trick. Where did you get the chicks, because most feed stores only carry a few of the more mainstream breeds. Meaning rocks, leghorns, sex links, production reds, EEs, and sometimes a varied selection of bantams, but your chick's are all large fowl. So I'm guessing sex links, or production reds for the red ones, leghorns for the white, and barred rock for the black and white.

So i bought my kids some chicks a few weeks ago. I wasn't really thinking of keeping them long term. But i have fallen in love,i got a free small shed and now they are staying. Im fixing up the coop, for now they reside in the bathroom. i wanted to get some info or guesses on breed and sex. if anyone can help id appreciate it.
the brown ones kind of look like brahma's but i don't want to talk to loud alot of chicks look like brahmas to start
Can I ask a question without offending you? Why did you get your children chicks if you weren't planning I'm keeping them? Unfortunately people think that chicks are so cute and go buy a bunch at Easter and then realize that there is more time, effort and care needed than they want to give. Then they either drop them off somewhere or kill them. I will say I'm happy to see your doing the right thing by taking care of them. :jumpy
