Help! My Cayuga duck somehow ended up on the other side of the fence and was separated from her eggs for 5 hours! Eggs are cool to the touch. Will they survive now that she's sitting on them again or not? Some were probably less than a week away from hatching.

If they are less than a week away from hatching, the unhatched ducklings can usually make their own heat. The hatch may be delayed a bit, but at that age, they should live.

Last Spring, I had a 60+ hour power outage and of course I was incubating eggs at the time. Still had three of them hatch.

Eggs can go a fair amount of time without heat. 5 hours is nothing and they should be fine. :)
