My 42 week old EE chickens have not been laying and I have no clue why we searched the area around the coop inside the coop and in the run but no eggs! please if anyone knows whats wrong I need your advice!

Do they have water, food and calcium? How about light? Pullets need 12-14 hours of light a day to lay. What is the weather like there? Are they stressed by something? Sometimes chicks hatched in late spring are late bloomers to start laying.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

It is possible that the short days of daylight are causing them to hold off on laying. Maybe they do have a secret nest somewhere, maybe they themselves are eating the eggs or maybe something else is eating them. Health issues can cause birds to stop or not lay. Stop by this thread on this subject and maybe you can gleen some info from it. You can even post your questions there too...https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/423023/why-arent-my-chickens-laying-here-are-your-answers

Good luck and I hope they start laying soon!

We're glad to have you.

I would suspect that the daylight hours are causing them to not lay. Ideally, chickens need at least 14 hours of daylight each day to lay. Your birds may not be laying because they aren't getting enough light. Without supplemental lighting, they may hold off until spring.
