See the live red segments? Cactus are designed to detach segments during landslides and flash floods and re-root wherever they land. So detach all the red segments. Prepare some new soil, mostly sand because cactus roots can rot if they are in poorly draining soil. Then just stick the segments into the pot about half inch into the soil. Every few days, lightly dampen the surface soil. New roots will shoot out from the base of each segment.

The key is very sandy or gravely soil, mostly dry. You don't want anything that holds water like a sponge. That kills cactus.

This is actually 2 separate plants. A lot of stores started selling Dragon fruit plants with Moon cactuses grafted onto the top. The dragon fruit is fast growing, and when it can no longer grow because of the graft it dies. These are really common and usually don't last long due to the grafting.
