I left a styrofoam box outside and my Sussex hen has eaten quite a large amount of it, will it hurt her? What can I do to help her?

Give her apple cider vinegar. If it doesnt make her better within a day I would take her to An avian vet. I would also give her stuff that makes her pass whatever she has eaten too, like plum juice. Good luck

ya for some reason they love the stuff, mine have eaten it before...doesn't seem to bother them

That's such a relief to hear, I've given her pear purée baby food and apple cider vinegar in water, just waiting for her to pass the styrofoam now, thanks so much for all the help and reassurance!

Sorry, I only just saw this, how are your ducks? You will get more help faster if you start a new threading the forum. I don't know much about ducks, although I saw one swallow a pork chop bone and poop it out seconds later and it was fine

I posted like you said and nobody has replied to this day. it was about a duckling I had and it died. But any way, they were out in their run all day yesterday and we came home and they were fine. I was scared straight! I found comfort in knowing one ladies experience. Her ducks are known to eat EVERYTHING and be fine. Her husband works in the yard and so there is lots of leftover building things. Her ducks have eaten staples, small nails, fiberglass, rocks, balls and more im sure. I am going outside in a little bit to let them out of their house. I think they are O. K. Thank you for your concern :)

I'm sorry to hear that you've had no replies, I usually get replies quite fast. Poultry pages on Facebook are another great way to get advice fast, although I've been abused by people for no good reason on there as well. Best of luck to you

Thank you. Everything is alright. My oldest duck, Tilly, she is the only one who lays eggs. She layed an egg the day the Styrofoam was eaten and she did lay one yesterday too. But I went out there this morning and I couldn't find her egg. I'm hoping that it is just hidden and all I have to do is dig for it. I have to clean their house any way and I will just look for it when I clean their house.
