HELP!!! My chicken is laying smelly eggs with black yokes

Are all the hens eating the same thing? ...including the scraps?

Could you post a picture of one of these cracked into a bowl? Has to be something they're eating, I'd think but I've never had an issue like that.

Quarantine right away, you don't want any others catching it if it is a disease.

One of my chicks has been laying eggs as usual but when I crack them open it is like a stinkbomb went off in my house. The yokes are black!!!!

Ok, this sounds pretty gross. Although, very interesting. I would like to know what the cause is.

Well thanks for the input everyone. I actually do have horses and so maybe that is where she is getting it - from eating some of their food. I will try quarantining and take a better look at her. Thanks

What kind of feed do you use for your horses?

My chickens share our horse feed all the time and no black yolks....would like to keep it that way

Please keep us all posted on what you find out, I am really curious about this. Never heard of anything like this and would love to know what caused it so I can prevent it.
Maybe quarantine the chicken away from the horse feed, and if/when the eggs go back to normal offer her some horse feed and keep her in quarantine for a few more days to see if it recurs?

I hope your hen is ok, that is very strange. Is she acting fine otherwise? you must get a photo of this (please), I think it would be a good learning tool.
