It is 100 Degrees out right now, and on Friday, it is on the weather that it will hit 115, and I will be GONE

I will be on vacation on Friday, at Georgia. I need help NOW so I can keep my chickens cool. Right now they are panting and their feathers are spread out for air ventolation. I'm leaving on Wednesday, so I need help, and I tried putting Ice in there water, and they STILL didn't eat it!

yea, i freeze chicken/bird feed in ice blocks for them, also i have 2 fans for my chickens, i have a huge umbrella in the center of my coop for extra shade, hope this helps

Fan, i have a fan hooked into my coup with a timer. It is also in the shade, and lots od water. Do you have someone that can take care of them? My fan is hooked to one of thier windows and blows the hot air out.

It was 114 here today , it will be over 100 for the next 7 days. My chickens don't seem to get under the misters. Mine are very stressed.

We are in washington state in the eastern part where it gets hot. It has been 100, here off and on.

Cold treats! Mine just got their first taste of yogurt yesterday (it was HOT) and loved it. Today I gave them a bit of organic pumpkin puree. They seemed happier after that.

Does your coop have plenty of ventilation? Are they going to be confined to the coop or will they be able to have access to the run as well? Make sure a good portion of their run has shade -- even if it means temporarily attaching some shade cloth to it. Shade cloth is breathable screening material that will allow air flow, unlike tarps. Unfortunately, frozen water and/or treats won't last but a short time - certainly not while you are on vacation. Make sure to leave plenty of extra water -- way more than they would normally have just in case some gets knocked over/spilled.
