Help!!!! My chickens have bloody stool

I have noitce a few of my baby chickens less then 7 weeks have bloody stool but none of my older chickens. They seem fine, running around , eating but not getting really bigger. I have a friend that just found out her chickens have worms. Could she have brought them over to my house?? What should I do??? I have included a picture of some stool that one did this morning.

It could be Cocci or what you are seeing is cecal poo. It can be different colors, textures, etc., especially depending on what you are feeding.

You can treat for Cocci, it won't hurt them. You can find Corid at the feed store.

Corid dosage for Cocci is 1 1/2 teaspoons Corid powder per gallon or 2 teaspoons of 9.6% Corid liquid per gallon
Give for 5-7 days - make sure this is the ONLY water available during that time period. Mix a fresh batch at least once a day.

After they finish treatment offer some poultry vitamins and probiotics/plain yogurt.

At 7wks, it's possible they could have worms, but I personally would not be too concerned. You can take a fecal sample to your vet for a fecal float test for confirmation of parasites.

You may want to practice biosecurity when you and your friend visit each other's chickens. Don't wear shoes (change shoes or wear shoe covers) from one chicken yard to another, change clothes and wash hands after visits before you tend to your chickens, etc. That way you reduce transmitting any illnesses/parasites, etc.
