Help my duckling seems to throw up his food!

Im sitting with them as we speak, just changed their pee pads in the brooder while letting them run around. Made them a little bath and he had a little splash while hunting for some tiny bits of veggies and when he came out he started shaking his head and the mash I feed them flew everywhere. What is going on?! I’m freaking out!!

He seems completely fine, happy and healthy, not sluggish at all, they just had the zoomies and started running around. He doesn’t appear sick but this worries me

Sometimes greedy birds might overfill their crop, and when they lower their head or something, it just comes back out. If he's alright otherwise, that's probably what happened

Definitely happens with Ducklings because they eat lots then drink lots of water. They can burp back up feed. Nothing to worry about. It can happen also if you pick them up after eating..

What breed is your duckling? Pekins and especially Jumbo Pekins have been bred to be greedy eaters (meat-bird) and are more susceptible to over-eating.

Anytime you pick up a duckling watch you don’t press in on the crop that way they won’t be as apt to spit up their feed and water. Although my female goose can tilt her head down right after drinking and water will run out they love to guzzle

Yeah mine puked alot, Usualy on the cleanest thing around

Usualy was from over eating
Over excitement
Sudden scare

And their crops are like little sacs and if you pick them up fast or squeeze a wriggly one itll force the food out

aaannd remember some foods swell so avoid feeding those loke dry rice or dry pasta
