HELP MY DUCKLING

Can an overdose of calcium do this? My brother fed the ducklings laying food for a week and I just switched them off today/yesterday but idk if that's the case cuz when I got out the shower I found a ducking sitting on my ducklings neck/back

Well, I'm not 100% sure about that, but a week isn't a long time so as long as it was fresh feed would be more of a concern in my opinion (and maybe I'm wrong) and then changing to a complete duckling feed that was fresh would be a priority for me. Having Pekins often means supplementing, even when feeding a complete duckling feed. They're actually created more for meat than pets, but it's certainly possible to have them as pets. They grow so quickly and so big that they require more than other ducklings.

How big was the duckling that was on this one's neck? Ducklings oftentimes pile up whenever they're cold.

I understand you're upset because this is upsetting. Think about what you're doing for a moment. You're doing everything you can to help this little one. That's wonderful! In many cases, this duckling would have gone unnoticed and probably would have suffered. It's in good hands. You've got this. Try to look at this in a more positive way. It's difficult to take care of something when you're struggling yourself. You're doing everything you can to care for this duckling in a loving way. You're getting virtual hugs coming your way.

Were you not giving them heat before this? That's odd, I give mine heat until they start to feather, but I'm overprotective.

In my personal opinion, it sounds like a possible deficiency. I may be wrong, but until we hear from some more knowledgeable folks, let's treat it as a deficiency. Is the duckling warmer now? If it's unable to move, I worry about it overheating, so how hot do you have it?

My dad told me they'd were old enough so I stopped giving them heat I didn't know that they weren't are they too cold??? Js that why it's not moving and laying like that???

It doesn't need as much heat as a week old duckling but I also have heat available until they're fully feathered
