Oh good! Just keep him warm and hydrated overnight. Try to get some sleep yourself. Maybe place a separate box in the brooder so she wont be trampled by the others? A cardboard box inside the brooder so he can hear them, but not get to them will work. Place him in a thick layer of bedding just outside the heat source. He should be able to keep warm, and probably scoot a little bit. Give him a shallow water dish, and some feed. Try to get some sleep, you can't do much now until the vet tomorrow.
You'll need your rest for tomorrow, especially with school on top of the vet appointment. Amazing job with him, I'm rooting for you both.
How many hours until you can get up in the morning? With my injured chick I got up once accidentally to check on her, she was alone without being checked on for two 4 hour stents. You may choose to check on him/her more often though.
The other ducks were also tired and I was really scared so I added some sugar water for their food as well and after they drank some they were well up and going. My sick duckling Is sleepy right now I put a towel over jt so the heating lamp isn't so bright just in case of seizures. My dad isn't letting me have a swimming spot for them because he says it'll ruin the floors so I haven't had that yet im waiting for a kitty pool but tomorrow I'll be using them a sled. After the sugar water and the b complex he was a bit more active and walking but then he had the event again. Yes this started a couple days after I started the oatmeal and possibly so.once he goes down idk if he gets back up on his own because I help him up im too scared to just let him lie there I could experiment but I don't really feel good to and right now he's breathing with his mouth open he just had the event again u went to record it but I dropped my phone and he snapped out of it but he's still breathing hard laying down with his mouth open what do I do
He is to hot.
If he's breathing hard he may be too hot, can you move him out of the light a bit? Make sure the towel isn't too close to the heat lamp, they're a real fire hazard. Good idea though! Keep offering the sugar water, and if it started after the oatmeal I definitely think a deficiency may be an issue, wether its the main cause or not. I'd keep giving half a capsule a day, (just a guess, this is not an accurate dose) until you can get Rooster Booster B-complex, then follow the dosage there.
My ducklings at 3 weeks stopped using their heat source. I found they only used it after the bath
I wettened most of it but I dont remember if I ever forgot to moisten it or maybe not enough
