Chirping
Some breeds of chickens have more aggressive roosters than others. Again, this is a mistake of not researching the overwhelming variety of chickens available today. When I was a kid the choices were so standard and so limited but we live in an extremely globalized and spoiled world now where we can get whatever we want.My Favorite Rooster (Olive Egger "Charli") just started attacking me he was so sweet. I have tried to "Humiliate" Him infront of the hens but that does not work like it has in the past. I have tried making myself bigger to scare him NOTHING WORKS but i do not want him to go to the chop house please Help!!!!![]()
In addition, the inbreeding, hormone filled foods, etc. is making chickens act weirder and less natural like when I was a kid.
I always start by selecting my roosters from the chicks that I want to keep. The healthiest, best looking, etc. then I tame them right away.
Carry them. Feed them by hand. Do it daily. I keep them in the kitchen.
It is sort of too late as she said. You can try and tame it by carrying it with you and in the garden alone. Remember, their primary purpose is to protect the hens. Once alone, this instinct will drop away more out of sight of his flock. He is king and the boss! He doesn’t care who you are. He will sacrifice his life for the hens even if he knows he will lose.
