i agree, its a hard molt.
I went to go lock the girls in the coop for the night, and amulets feathers were EVERYWHERE! and they weren't there before and I was like "WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED???" then i got scared because what if we had a coon get her? but fortunatly, no. She's fine, in the coop, her and pepper are sharing the same nesting box sleeping (even though there are two nesting boxes).

Mine are going through the same thing. No eggs and feathers everywhere. Why do they do this in the winter? Go figure. First it was one a couple of weeks ago and now my 11 month old just today started loosing her feathers.

Daphne, my white Cohin just got done with her first broody time and now she's molting pretty good. White feathers everywhere. I guess it's gonna be a while before she gives us eggs again, and she was really laying well before the broody molting time. I'm thinking that this would be a good time to worm them while I'm not getting eggs anyway!
