Help! My hen is crowing!

And I always assumed it was because of the crowing.
It probably is.

Are you under ordinances regarding g poultry keeping? If so, do they prohibit roosters or do they prohibit "crowing birds"?
I wonder if anyone has challenged the no rooster rule by proving the crower is female? <scratcheshead>
Probably not, as there is usually a rule about noise worked in.

I finally got a video of HENrietta (aka Henry) crowing like a rooster. Why is she doing this? Is it because we put in a whole new coop? Built a large enclosed run? Added 11 pullets? She's 3yrs old and I suspect hasn't been laying much at all recently.
How can I get her to stop? What's bothering her, all the changes? Is she stressed?

I suspect that is why some ordinances have been written with this language. I came across it a few times in trying to research local ordinances for folks and at first it was puzzling, but after some thought realized they had likely encountered issues with non male noisemakers, or borrowed from localities who had....

I'm in a pretty dense neighborhood, and every time she crows I run out my back porch to see if any neighbors are out. so far nobody has mentioned anything to me or formally complained. and honestly, the dog next door barking from 5-5:30am is much more annoying, as I can hear the dog loud and clear with windows closed, but can barely hear Henrietta crow.

I can’t stand the noise dogs make.
We bought our house in our rural neighborhood for the huge shade trees and quiet.
Now the people across the street are breeding labs and they lock them in kennels outside and they just yelp, howl and whine for hours!!
I can’t even enjoy my garden and yard!
