Poor baby!!! That is either a very swollen sore vent o an egg bound hen, or a prolapse. REALLY want someone with better knowledge than me to look at this! Can you feel an egg in there? Certainly isolate her so the other chickens don't pick on her
Kind of what I was thinking. Here's what I did when I had an eggbound hen ... but she was NOT as severely swollen as yours! I would still seek more opinions!I don't think it's a prolapse because nothing is hanging out of her vent, but her vent is very big and swollen. I wonder what it could be?

How long AFTER extracting the shell has she remained lethargic?I have a one year old golden comet. She was walking funny and i could feel egg in her. Got egg out with warm bath and gentle manipulation, but there was a second egg right behind it that was soft and broke in her. I got all shell out and i think most of contents. She is stilll lethargic. What do i do now????
