We got 4 ducklings back in April, they were approx. 2 weeks old.....we hoped for females maybe 1 male or two but looks like we have 3 males and 1 poor female which we are going to have to figure out what to do about that still. We are thinking we will have to get 2 more females or swap a male for female with someone.
But our largest male Dexter apparently mated with our lovely Sassy and his penis was out and did not go back in so we filled pool and let them swim and then I brought him in house and put him in dog cage for few nights and put out in goat yard separate from other ducks but he could see them just not mate. I put bengay on his penis and it finally went back in after 3 days. We finally let him back in with the other 3 ducks yesterday and we are right back to the thing dragging on the ground again today. I feel bad because you can tell Sassy and him are close she stays at fence and he does when he is separated but do I have to keep separating him every time this happens so it goes back in?
What do I do?

Anyway, what's done is done. If he were mine I would catch him, clean it off really well with a mild soap and water. Do that then please post pictures of it so we can see if it looks like it's getting infected or dying.
