Help-my pekin ducks are stuck across my frozen pond

Flat bottomed metal boat. Scoot/paddle yourself out there and bust the ice around the ducks. Hatchet, shovel, whatever works. Been there. Done that. Wear waders if you have them. Do NOT stand on ice. Stay in boat and work from there. Cover the ducks in a blanket to keep them quiet. And don't do this alone. Take someone with you and make sure you have an audience on the bank of the pond to call for help if something happens.

This is an excellent suggestion. You can safely get out there and with a net scoop them up. You can even use bed sheets to toss over them and then put them in pillowcases to keep them safe.

And what good thinking on your part to contact the Humane Society!

Please keep us posted on how they're doing. I wish I could airlift them little custom made ice fishing houses with warming boots and food.

I just saw the update above my goofball comment. Wonderful news. They're lovely ducks. Have you named them? I guess that'd be a bit difficult considering how much they look alike. Maybe name them all Martha?

Though I did think they were frozen IN the water.....

OOh no - they were always moving - also they did a great job at keeping that small area of water unfrozen - by always moving there feet- just amazing;
