Its like u r afraid of him ..
See love is the answer not culling
I have pet chickens and if u want to tame him love him hold him show ur love to him and u can see magic ..

In other side u can also look for any symptoms or disease or mites as upset health make chicken aggressive I remembered when my rooster got cocci he used to bite my fingers after examination and treatment that thing gone
Don't worry at all they are sweet creature

Ok I'll give that a try. thx

Ok, you've got a rooster that sees you as a challenger due to your reaction to him. One thing you can try before you give up is when he attacks pick him up hold him until he calms down. Put him back down, if he attacks again repeat the process. If this works eventually when you put him down he will run instead of attack. If you do this for more than a few weeks with no improvement, it's time to try another roo. Good luck to you. :)

Most of the time when I'm out side, he just leaves me alone, but when he see his chance, he goes for my leg. Been attacked 3 to 4 times now.

It is possible he's not fixable, some of them are just jerks. I've hatched some zonkers. It's totally up to you what you want to try,but if he's a jerk not alot you can do. I'm only telling you this because his attacks are inconsistent meaning he's planning what he's doing. If he did it everytime it might be hormonal or even illness, but he's a planner which usually means he's just a bhole.

I successfully trained my aggressive rooster to not be aggressive. Here are the things I did:

If he attacked me, I would turn around and chase him. If he did any sort of challenging stance (puffing up hackles slightly, shuffling toward me, etc.) I would chase him. Sometimes I would try to corner him and catch him. If he was being relentless with his attacks, I would hold him to the ground until he stopped struggling. I also would "guard" over the hens while they ate (when he was still with my hens, he's in a rooster flock now). I would "guard" them by making sure he couldn't get into the coop while I was in there with them. Another very important thing to do is to never walk around your rooster. Always walk toward him so he has to get out of the way.

I hope this helped you! :)

Read up on the subject here, you will not be able to tame him. Eat him

Gary

That may happen if him doen't start being good.

Geez us
That is not a rooster thing and he is trying to hurt you.
Get rid of him asap.
I don't believe in playing rooster games with bad roosters. Too many good ones that need homes to waste time trying to fix one. Especially when it very rarely works and is never long term.
Usually the bad ones were raised wrong. I do the hands off approach as you did and don't have rooster issues. Imo you did it the right way and he is still an *ss so that's telling me he will not change and will get worse. I do agree with a good neck massage. A good hard twisting one.
Cull him and let god sort him out.

I'll probably get rid of him if he don't not start to be come good. Yes hatching a new one with my hens next year would be easy.

A good rooster will move away from you NOT toward you.

There is no reason to keep an aggressive rooster.
They can cause serious damage especially to children and elderly.

Time for soup.

My mom has holidaymakers in the Spring to Summer months with kids running around the farm and plenty of walkers, cycles and horse riders, that goes past my mom house some times. There a walk, cycle and house track that goes past my mum house.

Lead hens will also warn of predators.

That a new bread that I not hear of before. thx

As others have stated there is no need to tolerate this behavior when non human aggressive roosters are available. Human aggression can be an inherited trait. If children are involved, get rid of him yesterday.

Yes my mom has holidaymakers in the Spring to Summer months with kids and I easy to hatch another one.
