I just went out to the coop and my little Silkie Roo, Hop Sing, seems to have laryngitis. He tries to crow, and just sounds raspy. He is eating, drinking, etc. but his buddy he always hangs with is shunning him. I have a red heat lamp for him, but he went out in the snow for a while yesterday and got his feet wet.

Any ideas on how to fix him? Should I bring him in the house for a while? Any meds that would work? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks for that. He has no symptoms but the laryngitis. No other birds have been ill. It's just very cold and snow on the ground here. Probably should have kept him in. I haven't treated any of the birds with anything as they've all been healthy. Coop is clean, they get organic feed and clean water. Think I'll bring him inside for a while and put back on on a warm day.

Just keep an eye on him-laryngitis in and of itself can be a symptom of respiratory issues.
Hope that's not the case with your boy.
Bringing him in is a good idea, anyway.
Good luck with him!
