HELP!!! My young peafowl are dying

Sorry about your problem.

I will throw a couple of thoughts out there. First, an antibiotic like Tylan may help with secondary problems. The Tetracycline might be alright, I am just unfamiliar with its use on peafowl. I know the Tylan is highly effective. Second, my humble opinion based upon my limited experience is that cecal worms are the fast acting killers of peafowl and should be treated with Safeguard not Ivermectin.

Since we are speculating here, I will go out on a limb and say that if you are not seeing blood in the stool, Coccidia is not your problem. If they are, and have been, eating the medicated game bird feed with Amprol or Monensin it is much more likely they got worms from either worms or bugs on the ground.

She stated she feeds medicated game bird scratch. Most game bird/turkey have a big problem with histomoniasis (blackhead) copper sulphate is added to some of those medicated feeds as a histomoniasis preventative, the same way that amprolium is added to chick starter to prevent coccidiosis. I got that info off the UPA forum. Unfortunately scratch is not medicated chick starter and her birds should be on the chick starter. Also your chicks can still get coccidia whether you use a medicated starter or not, the medicated starter will HELP prevent it but not 100% prevent it. I know I lost a couple to it and they were on medicated starter.

I forgot to ask, why are the babies in with an adult peacock? They are too young to be in with him. He will attack them esp for the food. The chicks are really too young to be fed scratch grains, they should be on medicated starter crumbles.

How is the little one doing - any better?

I would get them on a gamebird or chick starter...not scratch for now.
I would use the Corid for 5 days... then I would use the Safeguard. Make sure the peachicks drink the Corid. There does not need to be blood in poo for them to have it.

I have the same issue all my peacocks chicks die after the look healthy. I do deworm every month.

I know this post is a few days old, but lethargy and loose stool may also be a sign that your bird is dehydrating. We had that problem when we wormed with Wazine- some of the peas stopped drinking ANY water (and one of them stopped eating, too) after the first day of it. If you have the ability to do so, you might consider picking up some supplies to tube feed/water your birds and medicate them directly. If you can get in touch with a bird that does avian species (not peafowl, just like, cage birds) they may have a supply of Emeraid omnivore (https://emeraid.com/emeraid-omnivore/) on hand that's really good for this.

I hope your birds turned out okay.
