A "breeder" gave me these chickens in exchange for a couple dozen eggs. She assured me they were all pullets, bantams and purebred. I lost my cell with her contact # so I can't get back to her to ask what I got. They don't seem to be pullets either

Of course out of the 4 pullets, 3 are really cockerels ;-) I haven't been able to identify them and our county fair is in 2 weeks. I would like to know what we have so we (our sons are in 4-H) can enter them in the correct divisions.

The bird in the foreground I thought was a pullet, but spurs are developing. She has a single comb.

This cockerel has the odd comb and his feathering is more golden than silver - picture not so good.

FYI - the divisions are:
Standard Poultry (Large Fowl) - American Class, Asiatic Class, English Class, Mediterranean Class, Continental Class and All Other Standard Class. Then of course we have Bantam - Clean Legged/Single Comb, Clean Legged/Rose Comb, Clean Legged/Other Combs, Father Legged/Single Combs, Feather Legged/All Other Combs and finally Game Bantams.

The Black Birds both have heavy feathered legs. 1 Has a single comb, the other has an odd comb, more like a rose, but not quite. Both have Golden lacing around the neck and back. One more so than the other. At first I was pretty sure the one was a pullet, but I see small spurs developing.

The two white birds have a small amount of black ticking throughout and heavily feathered legs. One is DEFINITELY a pullet, the other a cockerel. I can try to get batter pictures tomorrow, close ups if anyone wants clearer shots for a more definitive ID.

Thanks so much for any ideas.

FYI - the Black Cockerels are rather aggressive. Unless they are something special they are getting sold at the fair

The solid black male could be a black Cochin. White male is probably supposed to be a white Cochin. The black/gold one with the funky comb is a mixed breed cockerel. Not sure on the white pullet. Does she have white legs?

The whites and the black with the single combs could be cochins, the black with the odd comb maybe a brahma?

Splash Cochin cockerel. If he is a bantam, enter him in the Feather Legged class. If he is a large fowl, enter him in the Asiatic Class.

This is a black Langshan cockerel. If a bantam, enter him in the Feather Legged class. If he is a large fowl, enter him in the Asiatic class.

I'm not completely sure what this is, but I am going to guess that he is a Dark Brahma with rather poor coloring. Enter him in Feather Legged if a bantam, Asiatic if a large fowl.

I'm not sure what this bird is. The comb is wrong for a cochin.
