Could it be that your 4 week old duck is a male and that’s part of his maturing and showing you luv? A “noodling” of sorts.

May I ask what noodling is?? Cause my roo stretches/slithers (lol) his neck out on my arm or hand for pets, is that noodling?

Well, actually I don’t really know. What I call noodling is when a duck runs its head (and neck) up your arm, leg, alongside your neck...with its vibrator going. It can be a little unnerving the first time you experience it, but no harm is done. I’ve never experienced a cockerel or rooster doing that, but I suppose it’d be the same. What you described sounds pretty much what I call noodling.

My friendly ducks always did this when when I would pet them. She's fine.
