Sadly, it’s not all rainbows and sunshine. You did the best thing for those little chicks. Now take a deep breath, gather yourself and go enjoy the others.

there are 4 eggs that still haven't hatched.
the others were 5 days over hatching
should I presume they haven't survived?.
One of the previous eggs, the shell was half off but the chick hadn't survived

So these chicks and the others that have hatched were 5 days past 21 days when they hatched? And it’s been several days since they’ve hatched? If I’m understanding that correctly, then yes. The rest are not going to hatch. I would CAREFULLY remove them and dispose of them outside now. You don’t want a rotten egg blowing up in your house.

If you’re waiting on a brooder kit to arrive, where are your chicks now?

Chicks eat a lot and drink a lot are they getting enough food and water?

I put food in all the time
they drink every hour

You can easily make a brooder out of a cardboard box or plastic tote. For a light an adjustable or clip o desk lamp with an incandescent bulb (60-75 Watts) would work. They really should have access to food and water at all times.
