Thank you, i may have to try this as my heat lamp has just died.
Chick is still in the shell with its beak out, no attempt at zipping, its trying to move but is very squished. Should i help at some point?

If the temperature has dropped for too long, it’s probably not gonna make it, sorry to say… you can try warming it up under your armpit if you don’t have a 100-watt incandescent light bulb, just be careful not to crush it.

60 watt incandescent works too. At about 5" away. With an open container like what you had it in. That's what I use as a heat lamp for my chicks.
