Help!!!!One of my hens is dead

Is the rooster the same age as the hens ?

I had a Polish crested that was my absolute favorite...so of course that one died. I came out to let them out of the coop one morning and she was laid down on her stomach, with her feet under her and her had down flat dead as a doornail. I have no idea what killed her ...I'm thinking worms. If your girl was not injured, she probably had worms
