Should I leave her in the sling without the shoes? She just kept falling over like a beetle, and I'd hate for that to happen in the night while I'm asleep and can't help.just my thoughts. She has been stuck in the egg for a while in a weird position. If you just leave them alone after a little bit their legs will straighten out on their own. In my experience putting those heavy shoes on their delicate legs can make it worse. I think I would take all that stuff off of her a just give her a little time to work it out on her own. If after a day or two if she is unable to stand then I would intervene but, I wouldn't do anything right now it is possible you could cause a problem that otherwise have worked itself out. Just my thoughts on the experiences I have gone through. Good luck.
And here's the final product:
Not too bad for a quick fix. I wanted the top open so she could move her head, but she just kept freaking and tried to get out. She can still move it obviously. And this situation is only for tonight. So,it should be okay, right? I need some experienced chicken guru's input lol
Gah,it does seem like that, doesn't it? Maybe I'm overreacting and being too protective? It might be good for her to learn how to pick herself up off the ground...I am so tornWow, she just hatched and you're putting her right back into an egg! j/k![]()
I'm definitely thinking a sling will help. At least for the night. I have a friend who's an expert on chicken chairs and slings, so I'll be getting advice from her tomorrow.
