I have some SHOW silkies.
2 adults. 3 teenagers and 3 hatchlings. (8total)
I noticed my rooster had bumblefoot>which led me to scaley leg mites>which led me to these weird orange clusters on ALL of them.
I treated the coop and birds with permethrin 4 days ago. I also bathed them. I DO NOT SEE ANY BUGS ON THEM. I do not think this is mites (some people do....or ant bites) Even after spraying the orange things are popping up in new places. All the chickens are bathed in DE and have unlimited access to DE. The chickens seem to be acting okay.
They did get PT tested, and were negative. The 2 adults came from a breeder. The 3 teenagers I got when they were 2 weeks and the babies that just hatched I haven't given any vaccines.
Im in Texas and lately it has been very hot and humid. No one know what these are and there is not chicken vet around here. It seems to be in the base of the feathers. They are losing feathers. Has anyone ever seen this or dealt with this????
Fungus......Bacteria.......Virus......mites???
Suggestions on how to treat????
