Help!!! Orange Mystery clusters on my flock

Those yellow things look like insect eggs that I see on plants (greenbeans, tomato leaves.) I am not sure what those would be doing on a chicken, however. It wouldn’t hurt to dust them with some permethrin garden dust. I am interested in knowing what you find out.

On closer inspection of the pictures it appears that the orange dots are eggs. Probably from an insect that were laid on the skin. If you can afford it a vet visit may be helpful.

They have a dust bath with DE. Would you be able to tell me what kind of bugs? Bc I have saturated the coop, bathed the birds and sprayed them all and these things are still coming up. I have seen NO bugs on them.
The only reason I thought maybe fungus is bc they are so fluffy and it has been very hot and humid.

Contact a vet. It may be best to remove the affected areas. If it is a fungul infection you will need anti fungul medicine.

If it is ladybug eggs, I wouldn’t do anything more.

What have you treated the birds with so far? Permethrin? Spinosad? Sevin? Other?

I'm guessing it's some form of parasite, although Mr Google has been no help to me finding parasites with eggs of that color, but there's a possibility it can be something common but be colored by your unique environmental factors.

If you have a strong magnifying lens, you could scrape some off the chicken and take a close look. It could provide more clues.

If you are desperate, and I would be if in your shoes and having the entire flock affected, Sevin dust is a very broad spectrum insecticide that would be okay to use this once. It's safe in that it has no petroleum base that's toxic to chickens. Or you could dust just one chicken and if it's effective, then use it on the remaining chickens.

Another good insecticide that's very effective but is very safe for chickens is spinosad, sold under the label Elector PSP. You can order it from Amazon. (Very expensive) Sevin is cheaper.

I've never see anything like it but you have several poultry diagnostic labs located all over Texas. Call them and ask to speak with their avian pathologist.
I'd start with the one in College Station.
