I had one baby survive a difficult hatch under two different chickens. Long story, but it's a miracle he survived. I had to assist with the hatch. His yolk sac fully absorbed, and I used tiny bit betadine on the irritated looking navel. He is very small although he eats and drinks well. Have him on game starter. He's with 3 buff orpington chicks so he would not be alone. Every day I have to clean pasty butt which seems to get stuck from the enlarged, hard navel area. It's dark, bruised looking. Since this is lingering should I give him a shot? We have just about everything from LA 200, Excede, penicillin. It's seems like it's a little bigger, but I'm not sure. He's two weeks old. Please let me know what to do for him. Thanks. I have put Nolvasan on it.
