I have a Dark Brahma that has something wrong with its eye. It keeps it closed most of the time. Any ideas?

I don’t know. I just noticed it tonight. I watched her for a while and she is acting normal.Did it prick its eye?
Oh. Here, I'll tag a few more people.I don’t know. I just noticed it tonight. I watched her for a while and she is acting normal.
Yes, the coop is well ventilated and kept clean. I will try some terramycin ointment or neosporin starting tomorrow. Thank you!It would be hard to know exactly what happened to the eye, but it could be from a peck wound or injury, infection, exposure to ammonia fumes in droppings, or other causes. I would use some antibiotic ointment in the eye twice a day. Terramycin eye ointment from a feed store, plain Neosporin, or a prescription eye drop such as enrofloxacin would be good. A vet might prescribe something with prednisolone as well. Do you have good ventilation inside your coop?
