help please, chick hatched, but had brown goo stuck to it still

Never had this happen before. This line of dark brown goo is stuck to my chick and stuck to the egg. Is this the yoke that was not absorbed? What should I do. For now I have left it in incubator. It is fully dried out and hatched roughly 6 hours ago.

Might it be a vein? I know it's hard, but I would just see if it dries up and falls off, rather than try to "help".

thanks, that is what I am waiting for (or for DH to get home) I know the little chick will be fine in the bator. It seems to be getting around....just stuck to the egg still and I m too scared to unstick it.

I had one like that before! Just let it dry in the bator the just cut the dry part so you can take the egg off! It will be ok if it's what mine had!

Poor little chick did not make it

When my DH took a closer look his insides were on outside some. It was sad.

On a happier note, I hatched over 20 healthy happy chicks! And they are doing wonderful!
