The chick can't stand and the only movement in his legs is a slight kick straight back with both legs. Is there anything that can be done? This is my first hatch and I don't want to cull unnecessarily. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I had that happen to one of my chicks not to long ago. We splinted the leg and kinda used a tiny rubberband with a tiny cut straw placed in the middle. Hooked both legs together so they would not split. Gave her a vitamin B supplement and electrolytes.
She was fine in about 3 days.
I will look for the photo I took. I used sports tape wrapped around a small Gauss so it would not stick. Some people use band aids for splints. Splayed leg I presume.

They grow fast. So she will heal fast it you correct it asap!

Welcome to BYC by the way! I hope your chick the best!

You may find that the legs are somewhat better when the chick is dried off. Splinting, taping the legs in the right position might help. But honestly, I have had very little luck in correcting leg problems in newly hatched chicks. Another BYC member may have another solution. Good luck.

Keep it hydrated if it can't walk to the water.

Thanks for the help it's much appreciated. I would also like to add that the chick won't open it's eyes. It's does peep every now and then and squirms around a bit. Do you think maybe it's exhausted from hatching? ( it has been out of the shell around 10 hours). I want him to pull though but at the same time I don't want to see anything suffer. Do you think I should give it a little more time?

Is he dry yet? Will he sip? Is he under heat? If so, how hot?

I am going to give it a shot. I'll keep giving him water and hopefully he will perk up a bit.
Vitamins and electrolytes will help a ton more than plain water remember. If you have some. The whole hatch could benefit from them as well. Good luck with the correction procedure. I have one hatched today with a slight curved leg. I will address it as well. I'll put the pic on for you. I can't find the photo of the one I did last time. It will be a bit later though.
