HELP! Please help ASAP!!!

Most, if not all literature I have read on treating avian wounds says to bandage. I do not know where the rumor started that bandaging will be detrimental to a wound, but it is totally false unless you improperly bandage, and care for the wound.
Awesome! Thank you for explaining how to bandage properly. If you read a few posts down from the one you quoted, you'll see that we and another member had a sort discussion on the benefits of wrapping properly vs. accidentally wrapping improperly since I'm not educated on how to do so. Thanks for all eh great info! This is so helpful for any future incidents I may have. :)

Sure!

Thanks! That's very interesting...I wonder if it causes an exaggerated inflammatory response in birds? I haven't noticed anything, and it's my main go-to cause I rarely have actual styptic powder on hand. But I don't generally use it for anything deep, just scrapes/scratches or things like when I accidentally cut a toenail too close to the quick. I wonder if there is an antimicrobial powder that I could use to mix it with to help prevent any 'enhanced' growth of bacteria. I'm also kinda wondering what their definition of 'enhanced' is...stanking paywall! :[

How's your little one doing? Has she perked up at all? Wound look alright?

Also I didn't notice this right away but if you look at the first picture there appears to be quite a bit of bone from the wing jutting out. That will be a big source of infection. She likely needs this amputated 😥.

She is doing good. She has been eating and drinking like a camp! We took bandage off to clean again and let her be on a clean towel to air out/dry b4 wrapping again. She was walking around and nibbling At things. I think those are pin feathers and not bones?

So great to hear she's active! Also yeah, I wasn't 100% sure but wanted to point it out just in case any of us here missed it. It's difficult to see in the first few pictures because of all the blood.

Bandage fell off sometime last night and she got out of her makeshift towel bed we set up in kids bathroom 😊. She is doing way better then I would have guessed!
