Hi, she's at vets now, an aesthetic, xrays, endoscopy will be happening today & hopefully can get it that way, if not surgery, very expensive lesson!

the vet pretty much said what you did Amykins, so don't be sorry....I'm just so so annoyed with myself for not going last night. I cried for my poor girl

I hope so too Miss Lydia...I'm worried sick, keep crying & SO PI**ED OFF with myself...
When will you know? what time is it in Aus? and try not to beat yourself up we all have had things happen your not alone, and how'd you know she would eat something like that? I dropped a piece of nylon webbing one day out of my pocket and didn't know it until I saw it hanging out of my gooses mouth thankfully I was able to pull it out of her mouth but she had already started swallowing it. Did the vet say she has a good chance of recovery?

It's 11am wed here, prob wont hear til early arvo as he said he will have to fit her in between others. He didn't really say, just that he hoped he could get it without surgery. I should've listened to my gut instinct last night so its all my own fault.

Hi again, it's now 3.30pm (7 1/2 hrs after taking her to vet) & just had a call to say she's up & about, bit groggy of course, but he got it out with just doing the endoscope, so only small incision in her crop, thank goodness. He said it had made it's way into her stomach but he's hopeful there's no damage to intestine. She is on antibiotics & pain killers & will be getting kept in over night for observation & I am to ring at lunch tomorrow to check if she's allowed to be discharged. I won't be able to wait that long to ring so will be ringing to check on her first thing as soon as they open. I've already rung about 3 times today before the vet just rang back, I've been in such a state all day. Here's hoping I will get some sleep tonight, I'm such a bad mother

I hope this is a lesson for others out there, to NEVER WAIT....get them to the vet ASAP.... (as with most things throughout my life, I always have to learn the HARD WAY!!)
She is 6 months old & been laying eggs for us everyday for a month now, so my partner said to make sure they give us the egg back tomorrow when I pick her up!! haha, he reckons i'll be paying them enough so they're not getting her egg as well!! I keep thinking I can hear her cackling away out the back, it's quite freaky actually, feel lost without her here. Amazing how you get so attached to your pets in such a short space of time! The vets assistant commented on how 'pretty' she is, so of course that made me smile!
Thank you for your concern & for helping me get through this, appreciate it xx

Oh thank bacon she's okay! I hope she learned a lesson, too. :p Lord knows Wobbles hasn't. I'll never understand why both of our birds seem to think polyester tastes awesome.

You did a great job, and I know you're giving her lots of TLC as she recovers. Would you mind posting a few pics of the cutie for us? <3

Wow, how scary!!! So glad you were able to get her to the vet and they got it out without surgery. Poor dear! *hugs for you, too*
