I have no experience with turkeys, but it could be mycoplasma (MG) which is an infectious chronic respiratory disease. They can get it from a carrier bird, such as chickens, turkeys, and others, such as wild birds, or you can bring it home on shoes and clothing. You can get the bird tested, since MG will make your flock carriers, or it could be something less serious that has caused an infected eye. The best treatment is Tylan (tylosin) 200 injectable, which you can give by injection or orally. Tylan 50, which is 1/4 as stong, will do for chickens, but the dosage of 200 will be less volume. Tylan is also available in powder for the water. Oxytetracycline, Gallimycin, and Duramycin are other antibiotic treatments for the water, if you can't get Tylan. Akrnaf2's link above is good as well as this one which gives all of the symptoms for the various diseases: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ps044

ok thank you very much Akrnaf2 !!!! I am going to have to find a poultry vet around here to get some antibiotics or something for him..... Do you happen to know what they normally give them for something like this???

This is a citation from an article about Mycoplasma in poultry
There are some optional treatment:
".The answer to the MG problem in both chickens and turkeys is eradication of the disease organisms. This goal has been achieved in commercial breeding flocks with voluntary programs conducted by the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) and National Turkey Improvement Plan (NTIP). The treatment of CRD, air sac syndrome and the lower form of infectious sinusitis is not considered satisfactory. Many antibiotics have been used with varying success. Whether to give treatment is a decision that must be made on each flock based on economic factors. If treatment is attempted, give high levels of one of the broad spectrum antibiotics (Tylosin, aureomycin, terramycin, gallimycin) either in feed, drinking water or by injections. The "upper"; form of infectious sinusitis can be treated with success by injecting antibiotics into the swollen sinus cavity. "

ok so I have found the Tylan but I am just wondering why it says for cattle....lol... this is what I found: Tylan 200, 250 mL, Elanco Cattle Treatment . Is this correct???

Tylan is used in cattle, but commonly used to treat chickens. Tylan 200 contains 200mg of medicine per cc or ml, while the Tylan 50 contains 50 mg per ml, so the Tylan 200 is 4 times as strong. Either can be used as a shot, or given orally. In poultry 50 mg per 5 pounds is about right. I'm not sure what your turkey weighs, but the more concentrated tylan 200 is better for large birds. Tylan Soluble Powder is for use in the water, and the dosage is 200mg per gallon of water for 3-5 days. Here is a link about the Tylan Powder: http://www.drugs.com/vet/tylan-soluble.html

thank you all very much!!! your help is greatly appreciated!!
