HELP please need fly killer

If you really want the stinky container to work, put something that goes bad in there, tuna, a fish head, chicken feed stinks, you attract more flies this way.
Don't buy reusable. Use throw away. You know why.

Fly Predators have always worked for me. Good luck with your fly problem!

I've heard that fly predators really work and I went to the website but they're so expensive! Is there another website that would be a little less in terms of cost?

That info on the bag of water was very interesting, I think I'll try that. I also have those rescue bags, and like Wildsky, I was worried my neighbors would think that my chooks smelled, not the fly bait. yuck

When you click on the site with the bag of water info, read the comments that follow!

I am also having a really bad fly problem...this morning I spread out an entire bag of pine shavings across my chicken yard- looked real nice

. This evening when I came home, my chicken yard was FULL of more flies than I dealt with ever before.

The only thing I can figure out is that without the shavings, the chicken droppings must have been buried in the dry dirt- but with shavings they were like a neon Buffet sign for flies.

Ever since my show girl got wrapped in fly paper, I have kept the strips up hanging off the roof of the coop. It doesnt do any good, the flies want to be on the ground, with the poop.

I also discovered a horrendous gnat problem that I havent noticed before. Granted, I sat down on the ground with my 1 week olds, and the gnats were swarming me.

I will try hanging bags of water- seems my dad did this on his porch years ago. However, the bags will probably freak my chicken chickens right out.

We have fly predators and with 2 horses and the chickens we have hardly any flys. They come once a month in the mail as pupae, you just spread them around and they do the rest. The company we use is Spalding but there are others. This is our 1st year using them and I'll never go without them again!!
