Today when I took out my hens out I noticed my rooster was acting weird, he has a swollen right eye and the left is starting to get swollen. He doesn't want to walk alot just sit. He keeps closing his eyes, he's pooping green now, and stands on one leg, the other hens are starting to eat his feathers and hes not doing anything, he was fine yesterday I don't know what possibly could had happened over night

somebody help me I don't want to lose him, I saved him from death when his owners abandoned him as a baby chick, and now I saw him grow I don't want to lose my baby.!!!

It could be so many things its hard to say what to do. I would put electrolytes in his water and also start him on antibiotics. I would also seperate him from the others by putting him in a dog kennel and bringing him inside if it isn't possible to bring him in the house then I would put him in the kennel in the coop.

It sounds like a sinus infection. I'm a newbie, but had a rooster last year with the same symptoms. I took him to the vet and she prescribed antibiotics and he was fine after a few days. There are probably several links on here with good advice if you search sinus infection. I've seen Tylan recommended which is now avaible at our TSC. I'd seperate him right away. Good luck

I was doing research and it could be a sinus infection or coryza. But thank you guys! I will try this tomorrow if god allows him to live.. we'll see what happens tomorrow!

Hey everyone he made it through the night thank God! But the area around his eye is still swollen :( however my mom put some neosporin around it, were going to give him some advil later for the swelling he is still weak but once we took him out he started crowing, hope it works! If anybody has an idea of what I could do please tell me asap.. We don't have any bird vets in our area

A few of my chickens developed one closed eye this summer. One died, one saved with 7 days of penicillin shots , 1/2 ml or cc. I figured it was some kind of systemic infection. I've been hearing alot of one eye shut stories this summer. Hmmm.

Duramycin is a good generic antibiotic you can get at TSC for poultry. I don't know if it would work for what he has, but a little research would tell. If you end up needing penicillin you can get that at TSC as well. It is for big animals like cows and what not, but you may be able to cut the dosage to a tiny amount for a chicken. I'm sure if it can be done there is a thread on here for how.
