HELP! PLEASE. TROUBLE WITH GEESE EGG IN BATOR.

Your eggs will be fine as long as you let them hatch in the 'bator. Don't take them out or mess with them any more. With a staggered hatch you should have probably put the set date in pencil on the outside of the eggs. I stagger hatched all last summer with little ones hatching all the time. Once they hatch they will flail around trying to get their balance and dry off. Leave them i the 'bator for at least 12 hours after they hatch. They will make your other eggs roll around, but that will be ok.

If you want to start bonding with them, after they pip, start making a peeping noise at them (in the egg,) without opening the 'bator. They will peep back and it gives them incentive to hatch quicker, but you gotta give the little guys a chance to rest too! It's hard work busting out of the shell!

Good luck, and be patient!

If it was me, and I was in your shoes, i would just bump up the humidity to 70%, leave the eggs alone, not even turn the ones five days behind... if they hatch, they hatch. That is what I would do. cottagegarden knows WAY more than I do. I have only ever hatched a single goose egg. It was a beauty, but I gave it back to the lady I got the egg from because the buddy egg didn't make it and I didn't want to raise a lonely goose. So... not much experience here for me to share with you.

I would only increase the humidity to 50% because of the other eggs. Our hatcher drops to 40 or 50% often and the eggs do fine. If you increase the humidity too high on the other eggs you might drown them.

:hugsTHANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL THE HELP. CAUSE THIS SITE IS REALLY A +PLUS AND I TRUST YOU ALL MORE THAN JUST STATISTICS AND CRAP.

I DONT KNOW WHAT THE HUMIDITY LEVEL IS MY BATOR. ARE YAL TALKING ABOUT A TERMOMETER TO CHECK THIS? ALL I HAVE IS A REGULAR TERMOSTATE FOR THE TEMP PLUS THE TWO WATER CHANNELS IN BOTTOM AND A VENT CONTROL HOLE. ITS AN OCTAGON 20 ADVANCE BY BRINSEA. I HAVE PUT A SPONGE IN WITH THEM AND THE WATER CHANNELS ARE FILLED. HAVEN'T SEEN ANY MOVEMENT TODAY AND I'M GETTING CONCERNED.

This is not a slam, because we all had to start somewhere, but you really needed to be more prepared before you got stated, everthing you read tells you that you have to monitor both temp and humidity and you must have the proper tools to do both.. you need an instrument that measures both..

Go to Walmart and buy an Accurite hygrometer/thermometer and put it inside your incubator with your eggs. Once you do that you will be able to answer most of your own questons. And typing in caps is considered to be the same as shouting on the internet. Just thought you would like to know. Hope all goes well with your hatch.

Thanks, on the spot for the info. I'm on my way to walmart. Also, whould you have any idea why my egg only moved slightly yesterday and hasnt to my knowledge today. Is this normal? 28 days will be Friday.
