Help please

Still no change for my duckling.
He is making chattering beak movements still and chirping.
Early this morning he was making some very loud squealing noises.
How can I tell if he is distressed or just being mouthy?

Can you tell if he is moving or if it looks like he is stuck?

I really can’t tell. There is no progress and he doesn’t appear to be trying much and his face feathers seem to be getting a bit fluffy and making things even harder to see. He is still yawning and chirping and chomping. I tried upload a little video but can’t
The membranes only took on the pink colour after applying coconut oil. They had gone quite dry.

It looks like he has started putting in more effort he looks like he is trying to poke a tip of a wing out. There is nothing for his beak or wing to make contact with though. Can he just muscle out?
I am going to guess that he will probably have trouble getting out all the way but it's hard to say when is the right time to continue helping.
If he is still moving around I think I would wait.

I thought it wasn’t good to lay eggs that are hatching on wet paper towels because it actually sucks the humidity out of the egg? @Texas Kiki ?
What it actually does is chills the chick. The evaporation lowers the amount of heat getting to the egg, in forced air incubators.

Ok thanks.
The membrane around the exit hole seems to be turning plasticky so my feeling is he will have trouble getting through.
If I was a nail bitter I would have no nails left!
