Hi all. So basically I have 4 cayuga ducklings on day 28. Well they are now 12 hours into day 28. I've just candled them as still no hatch. There is movement inside. Not as much as the last few days, but none of them have internally pipped. I think 1 may have as I can hear a tapping/scrapping noise, but no peeping and there is movement. Is there anything else I can do? I don't want to mess with them if they are all still alive. But how long do I leave them. By 8:30 pm tonight (Friday 23rd may) they will be officially 29 days old. I'm not sure what humidity is as I have no way to check it. I have followed the instructions on the incubator and since day 25 I added a small bowl of water just to boost the humidity up. The temp was 37.5 and from day 25 I dropped it to 37.2. Does anyone know any suggestions or is it just a waiting game? Hope this all makes sense. :) thank you.

Them temp is in Celsius by the way. X

Hi mate first thing you did wrong was not keeping a measurement of the humidity you for all you know they may not be able to hatch cuz of humidity it is essential to keep humidity between 55 and 70 Percent in the first 25 days then you are supposed to keep them on lockdown until hatching period 28th day with humidity between 65 and 80 percent if they don't hatch within I'm afraid to say you've gone wrong somewhere and you may lose the ducklings it's too late to check humidity now on 28th day but if they don't hatch by tonight poor baby ducklings have gone to heaven but if they do hatch make sure for the next hatch you keep a hygrometer in the incubator at all times preferably 2 of them to be on the safe side good luck hatching

And just for the record you was supposed to raise the temperature on day 25 to 38.5 degrees when keeping em on lockdown

Thank you. I will just have to wait and see then :( my incubator just sai to add 100 ml of water and away you go sort of thing. And as for temp, everything I have read it says to lower the temp...lower the temp raise humidity. :/ well there's not a lot I can do now but just wait and see I spose. I didn't expect to get 100% hatch anyway as it's my 1st time. And my eggs were shipped which also don't help. But thank you anyway

Janoel is the same incubator I use shame they don't have a humidity setting on it for that u definetly need a hygrometer
