thanks I did get her a buddy a friend of my friends had some ducklings 6days older than her(miracle is what I named her since she was my only one to survive)I think it's a girl too her name is patches what they named her I'm thinking about changing it she is almost double miracle size and they said she was being handled I doubt it she totally freaks out when I picked her up and she follows and copies miracle it's kinda funny I thought patches would pick on her since she's so big do you happen to know ways to calm her when I hold her

Being picked up is scarey for ducks. When you want to hold her if you can sit on the floor it may make her feel more secure. and hold her feet for support too, some ducks are more accepting of being snuggled and picked up but hopefully over time Patches will feel more comfortable about it. That's sweet she copies and follows Miracle sounds like they have bonded well.
Miracle looks great now we need pics of Patches too.

Adorable!! So glad she has a great friend now! :)

But yes, most ducks don't care to be handled. But if you sit with them on the floor and allow them to come to you (to pick on your clothes or shoes for example) that will build up the trust and they will be more friendly with you. Good luck!

thanks I have another issue soon they will be going outside and I have to keep them in a permanent house and run what can I use in the run to keep it from being smelly and muddy

Not a whole lot beyond elbow grease. Since you only have the two it should not be so bad. They will muck around in muddy dirt and wash their face off in their water which will make their water all muddy. So, remember that they do not need water to swim in as much as they need water to wash their face. During the winter months just a bucket they can dip their entire face in will work. On nicer days and in warmer months a kiddie pool will work just fine. Be careful if you use straw in their run to absorb moisture as it can develop a mold that is not good for ducks. But, do try to keep their area at least partially dry for them.
