HELP! QUAIL STRUGGLING TO LAY EGG!

It's going back in slowly and we put a bit of chlorsig ointment on the prolapse. She's sort of lethargic now and standing still with her eyes closed for longer than normal periods of time. I hope she'll be ok she's my baby ♥️

Another strange thing is, the eggs are all fertile that come from that cage, which means Hercules, who I thought was a girl, is male. She's the calmest of all of them!

I’m glad the egg came out and that the prolapse seems to be resolving on its own! Definitely get some supplemental calcium added, and make sure the others aren’t pecking at her vent. You may want to separate her for a few days if she’s not already to be safe.

What makes you think they are fertile?
Can you take a clear picture of each of the quail in the cage?

Will you please remind me exactly what you're feeding them?

I'm glad she passed the egg. As for the calcium, are you offering some on the side? Just because your other birds aren't showing symptoms doesn't mean that they're getting enough. Each one is an individual, and they may react to lacks in their diet differently. In order to make sure they have enough calcium you can offer oyster shell or egg shell on the side and they will eat as much as they need.

Did you ever manage to get game bird or turkey feed for them?

I did get the gamebird starter feed and am feeding them a mix of chick starter and that now as they are older. I've just got back from the store and got them calcium powder for birds. I've added a dusting of it to their normal food and their shell grit container now.

George is doing ok now and walking around like the others. The prolapse is gone and she's acting normally except she seems a bit less crazy than she usually is.

I know the eggs are fertile because I've put one of Spot's eggs in my incubator and it's developing, and when you crack the eggs you can see a sperm spot.

The three quail in that cage are Hercules, Spot and George. Hercules is the only one I haven't seen lay an egg now, and the only one I could feather sex was Spot. I didn't want to vent sex them because it doesn't really matter to me if they are male or female. I just went of the fact that George was smaller and more hyper than the others.

George is silver and I had to rescue her from a shrink wrapped egg. She is currently the friendliest of the bunch and loves exploring the area around her cage.
Spot is a wild and has never had any problems. She has laid 3 eggs now with no problems.
Hercules is a Grau Fee that hatched in my hands and is the first quail I have ever hatched. He was the only one that imprinted on me properly when he was a baby.

I keep them all as pets and eggs are simply a bonus.

Sorry about the bad lighting, it's the middle of Winter in Australia.

Edit: I've investigated the egg and it's completely normal and fertile, except there was no shell. It just had a thick membrane.
Hopefully she lays a normal egg tomorrow.

If you're not concerned about getting eggs, I would restrict their light for a while to give her a break from laying.

@Kiki @Nabiki @007Sean I'm tagging every quail related username I know someone help.
Sorry, I just now am seeing this!!!!
Glad that she has gotten better.
I would give her calcium citrate, it will be 'taken up' very quickly into her system.
@Nabiki , has given you excellent advice.

I did. She's doing ok now, having no trouble at all. She might lay an egg in the next hour, I'm just hoping it ends up normal.

She does seem to be straining to lay something now. She's standing still with her eyes closed and is pushing. I hope the eggs not stuck 😟
