Our gal was a late, assisted hatch. She has been slow to grow and now is in with 2 week old chicks because they are the same size. At times she seems totally normal and happy, then she will be listless and weak.
Today I noticed she has swelling beneath her vent. It feels firm (about the size of a dime) just below the vent and the rest is squishy. Her skin looks purple below the vent (vent looks a healthy pink).
I watched her for awhile and noticed she is pooping normally. Any guesses as to what this is? Anything I can do? She's such a darling...
