HELP! Religious subjects.......

The more they memorize as a child - it will click in their brains as they grow. Gods word never dilutes!

eh... I guess..
I think if you cram all that info down a kids throat at once, it'll has a high chance to backfire someday (i think learning religion should be fun and special, not stressful and forced...)... Again, just MY dumb opinion.... to each their own..
Good luck with it OP.

The words are what they are. No way there "but through Me". It seems confusing to some, the Bible does, but some verses are very clear and this is one that is. IMHO.

Ok, can't help myself.

Those words are translations of words that were put on paper 90 years after the crucifixion. How can anyone know what was truly said, how it was said, and the context of it. I am not one who believes Jesus would have been an exclusivist like he is portrayed by many who quote that scripture. The God of my understanding would not punish nor restrict someone for lack of belief or understanding.

Ah, Don!!! Ok this is just my opinion and nothing more. God is a loving God. Therefore, I wholeheartedly believe that He comes to those non-believers in their last moments and gives them one last chance. I also believe hell is rather empty and Heaven it full. And THAT is what that verse means to me.

Learning a connected series of verses is far easier than the same number of words from random passages.

Psychology tells us that belief in something can come from repeating it. This is the general premise behind affirmations. Apply that same logic to memorizing and repeating a biblical passage or prayer and the power of this entire subject becomes very clear.

So much of the Bible is life teachings that make so much sense. Do unto other as you would have them do unto you, love your neighbor as your would love yourself, do not steal, do not murder, do not commit adultery, etc. I am not refering to the meat of the Bible that needs dissection either. I mean the most basic stuff. Even non believers teach their kids THAT stuff. So, IMHO, the Word isn't shoved down throats, but taught by parents everywhere.

Many times I've listened or read the works of pastors, ministers, priests, or even laypeople and encounter absolutes like the one in that passage. The only two things about God I'm sure of is He's a loving God and I don't even begin to have the capacity to understand him. I believe he's kinda gentle too.

I've actually pulled away from many Christian friends because of their black and white or overly righteous attitudes. I want to talk about how I can become more God centered and spiritual, not what Paul meant on page blahh blahh blahh about blahh blahh blahh so you can feel smart about blahh blahh blahhh.

You know what I mean.

I do and I am one of those too. My former church really let me down. I wroship now from my chair at work, in front of the computer, on the toilet, etc. God doesn't care where we do it from, and yes He is a gentle and kind and loving God.
